Dear SIESTA community,

hi everybody, I'm a new siesta user and I'm finishing my graduate
studies in physics at the university of Pavia. During these Christmas
holidays I've been playing with SIESTA to study from first principles,
band structure and DOS of a superconducting compound I'm working on
for my thesis research. Of course I couldn't get any reliable result,
but I realized I really like this kind of studies. I read about DFT on
books, then I went through various siesta presentation but, while DFT
theory is quite clear to me, I couldn't grab that much on how to
practically use siesta to face a real problem.

So what I'm asking you is where and how could I delve deeper into this
kind of studies! Is there a summer school scheduled for next year? Are
there any places where I could get deeper into this topic in Italy or
abroad? As far as I know no one is working DFT simulations in my
physics department.

Thanks for your attention,
best wishes for the new year,

Pietro Bonfa'
