Hi Amar
Just compile siesta in your home directory, there is no need to do this
using root. All your errors stems from calling sudo. Do this instead
sudo mv /usr/local/lib/siesta-3.1 ~/
cd ~/siesta-3.1/Obj
../Src/obj_setup.sh
cp ../arch.make .
make
If you really want to do it as root, then you should login as root and
compile.
su -
<enter root pass>
However, as I stated, this is not necessary.
