This is a semi-automatic periodic posting to the Siesta mailing list.

The mailing list can be a good resource for everybody, provided that we can
abide by a few common-sense guidelines:

* Before posting, make sure that you have made a fair effort at learning about
the issue in the documentation and in the literature. The mailing list is not a
replacement for your own work.

* If you are going to post a question, please make sure that the answer is not
already available in the archives. You can perform a search on
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/

* Choose a meaningful subject and avoid excessive or irrelevant quoting of
previous messages, to make your point stand out.

* If you are reporting a problem, you should give enough information about it,
but in the most concise form possible. Consider the information in
Docs/REPORTING_BUGS in recent Siesta distributions.

* Participation in the mailing list is voluntary. Nobody is entitled to an
answer, even less to an immediate answer.

As a general principle, your interaction with the mailing list can be
considered as another facet or your scientific activity. Please act as if a
record of it could be used by a committee evaluating your performance.
