Dear SIG Members,

This email presents a summary of the policy proposals currently in
discussion
and what stage it is in according to the Policy Development Process of
LACNIC.

One proposal currently under discussion:

    - LAC-2014-3: "Update to the Policy Development Process²

This proposal seeks to modify the LACNIC Policy Development Process.
The current policy development process was last updated in 2008 and
although so far it has worked properly, it has recently been brought
to attention that certain points lack clarity and definition.
Examples of this include the direct responsibilities of LACNIC,
LACNIC chairs and those of the organization's directors.

One proposal under analysis by the board:

    - LAC-2014-2: "Modification to the text describing ASN distribution
    requirements"

This proposal seeks to modifying the text describing the requirements
for ASN distribution with a view to making it more simple and clear.
It also proposes modifying the time during which an ASN may be
requested before the applicable requirements are met.
