[Without commenting on the legal structure and jurisdiction and strictly
speaking on my own as a member of community] - That is correct - SIGs are
not formal structure and hence the policies discussed are of operational
nature, that's why we can't discuss member or fee structure in policy SIG.
If SIGs are completely separate, why and how the SIG Guidelines grant the
EC removal powers? The EC is a corporate body - how can it have authority
over non-corporate structures? SIG Guidelines are there to help the
secretariat run this non-formal structure smoothly for the community (not
exclusively for members).
