does anyone share a printer under linux using cups and samba? i have an hp deskjet printer attached to a linux box using cups - this works fine, but i can't seem to get my win2k box to print to it via samba. here's some lines from my samba config that i thought would be all i needed to do:
[global] printing = cups printcap name = lpstat load printers = yes guest account = nobody .. [printers] comment = HP DeskJet 630C browseable = yes path = /var/spool/samba printable = yes public = yes writable = yes create mode = 0700 guest ok = yes print command = lpr -P %p -o raw %s -r lpq command = lpstat -p %p lprm command = cancel %p-%j i can add a network printer in win2k as \\linuxhostname\printers and win2k prompts me to add drivers for the printer etc, but when it's added i still get permission isses when i try to do anything with the printer. anyone have a similar setup working? -- tom carlile [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Before a mad scientist goes mad, there has got to be a period when he is only partially mad, and that's when he throws his best parties." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
