Well, I have started stress-testing my Lite-On 16x with a spindle of verbatim
and a spindle of memorex discs, we'll see how the tests (enough cds for every
new linux user to walk away with a cd set this weekend) go ;)

I will be calling UTPD regarding the parking issue and will be sending an
email later this afternoon on it, as well as to the attendees signed up so
far.

Could everyone email with the times they will be commiting to be there? We
need people there from 10-4 to help install. So far 15 people have signed
up, and 9 will be there before noon, so if you can be there at the beginning
to about 1, that's when we need you most. There's only 2 people coming in
the afternoon, so if you need to leave by 1 or 2 that would be no problem.
My guess is that around 3-4 we will be doing final tweaks on some machines
(those who wanted DRI setup, misc stuff like that), but not much else will be
going on by then.

As far as equipment goes:
We're trying to get people to bring monitors if possible so we can get the
refresh rates, etc adjusted well. I will have my monitor there with a vga
switchbox as an extra. It would probably also be good to have 1 or 2 more
extras there, if you are willing to bring one, email me. Same with key/mice.
I'm not too worried about network supplies, I'll be bringing my 8 port
10/100 switch, some extra realtec and tulip NICS, and my bulk cat5e and
connectors. I'll also have my laptop there which we could use as a
wireless/wired bridge as a last resort.

Patrick
