Yup. Read /usr/src/linux/Documentation/filesystems/devfs/README (and other
files in that directory).

You have to run devfsd to map between old device names and new device
names.

You should also edit XF86Config, printcap, fstab, and others. (You don't
have to though, if you run devfsd w/ default config.)
