I haven't used 5.1, and I don't know how Redhat handles their packages, could someone help out this person? Josef Wells -- _ Program (pro'gram), n. Hi,
I just saw your offer on that Linux CD-Giveaway page, and was wondering if
you'd help with a Redhat 5.1 Install. I was trying to install from my hard
drive, by downloading all the files (via FTP) from ftp.redhat.com.
I got the Install to boot up into my newly created partitions, but then the
Install process asked me for a million files that I hadn't downloaded yet.
So far, I've only downloaded boot/rescue/supp images, and the base directory
(small). I allotted 300 megs for Linux Native, and didn't want to download
all those RPMs/files I probably will never use. I just need editors, and
internet stuff.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated - I've read and read everything, but
can't find an answer as to how many RPM's I'd need to download!
Thanks,
Chip Rose.
