   In pine, go to setup, config and change the first few lines to
something like this:

user-domain              = domain.ext                               
smtp-server              = mail.domain.ext                                             
    
nntp-server              = news.domain.ext                                             
   
inbox-path               = {host.domain.ext/pop3}INBOX

   You're best bet, if you cannot get it working, is ask someone on 
that particular machine what to put for the settings.
