I cannot, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, figure out why my box
won't let me FTP to it. Apparently, the only thing
that is logged in /var/log/message or secure is:
Jul 18 21:48:09 felix ftpd[644]: failed login from felix [127.0.0.1],ksisney
Jul 18 21:48:10 felix ftpd[644]: FTP session closed
Which isn't very helpful.
My ftpaccess file is not strict at all:
class user real *
loginfails 5
compress yes user
tar yes user
chmod no user
delete no user
overwrite no user
rename no user
My ftpconversions and ftpgroups is unchanged
from installation, ftphosts has nothing in
it either, ftpusers does not contain ksisney,
hosts.allow and hosts.deny are empty.
The only message I get from the actual session
is:
Connected to felix.
220 dial-127-41 FTP server (Version wu-2.4.2-academ[BETA-15](1) Sat Nov 1
03:08:32 EST 1997) ready.
Name (felix:ksisney): ksisney
331 Password required for ksisney.
Password:
530 Login incorrect.
Login failed.
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
ftp> quit
221 Goodbye.
Which, unless I'm mistyped my passwd the million
times I've tried it, is a lie.
What is going on?!
