Here is the situation:
I have a laptop that is very hard to install to. I installed slackware to
it once from a zip drive successfully. I tried to get RH5.2 to install the
same way from a jazz drive, but it didn't work. I have an adaptec PCMCIA
SCSI card for the laptop.
I also have another desktop computer. Using it, I installed RH5.2 to the
Jazz drive through an Adaptec SCSI card.
I'm wondering if it is possible to use the same jazz drive, with a different
boot disk on the laptop. If so, how would I create this boot disk. It it's
not possible, is there an easy way to get linux to the laptop(I was thinking
through a serial cable?)
I'm not sure why the jazz drive install didn't work, I tried a few different
ways, it either couldn't find the RedHat directory, or couldn't mount it
(after I chose the packages). If I have to install that way I'll just use
slackware which was pretty easy last time.
Another think: The laptop only has a 250meg HD. So I might try Debian (I've
heard it is the best where space matters). Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance - you don't have to answer all the questions here, but if
you could point me to a good web site or other info source would be great.
