hmm, i see about 2-3 scans a week...maybe you should read your logs
more carefully? not all portscans mind you but "scripts that systematically
probe known exploits" which are generally not terribly well targeted...
ie, the linux mountd overflow is tried on all our aix systems, the
default irix accounts on our linux machines, etc.
folks are dumb and generally leave wide tracks. i've taken to ignoring
them for the most part, but if they do it while i'm logged in i'll
pingflood them as a good replacement for flipping them the bird.
