Hey.

I recently built an AMD K6-2/350 for a client and was very impressed with
it. The K6-2 is up to 400 MHz now, and the K6-3 can't be far behind, with
an increased cache size on board. Why not consider one of these?

>From what I hear, the Intel folks are not real happy that their Celerons
can be made to perform on par with their zippy ( and very profitable )
Pentium II line, and may have already taken steps to reduce the
up-clockability of them. One way to combat this is to rate chips on a more
aggressive scale. Chips that may only have been passed on to consumers as
300 MHz may now be shipped as 333, 350, etc. I.e. they are clocked higher
internally than they used to be, reducing the mischief margin for us.

If this is only rumour and I haven't got my facts right, please correct
me.

        Regards,
        Robb
