Hi folks, I seem to have a problem that keeps popping up, and occurs
whenever IO transfers start to skyrocket. This is just a sample from
strace output of Netscape hitting a REALLY large table.
gettimeofday({903668947, 317597}, NULL) = 0
sigreturn() = ? (mask now [])
--- SIGALRM (Alarm clock) ---
gettimeofday({903668947, 366735}, NULL) = 0
sigreturn() = ? (mask now [])
--- SIGALRM (Alarm clock) ---
gettimeofday({903668947, 416787}, NULL) = 0
sigreturn() = ? (mask now [])
--- SIGALRM (Alarm clock) ---
I also see this while burning CD's. I've read the man pages for alarm(2),
gettimeofday, and signal(7), but it didn't help (me) much. Anyone want to
explain what's going on? Basics on system:
P2-333 OC'ed to 350 (no it's not the OC causing problems)
Asus P2B
Matrox Millenium
SB16 w/ Yamaha daughterboard
2 IDE drives on primary
CD-ROM and CD-R on secondary
128MB RAM
Redhat 5.1 w/patches
Netscape is running off of /usr/lib/libBrokenLocale.so
Thanks,
