I have the stderr from X redirected to a file, and this is what I'm seeing: System: `/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/xkbcomp -w 1 -R/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb -xkm -m us_microsoft -em1 "The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:" -emp "> " -eml "Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server" keymap/xfree86 /var/tmp/xfree86.xkm' I know it has something to do with the keyboard map, that's about all I know X Error of failed request: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 62 (X_CopyArea) Resource id in failed request: 0x1800010 Serial number of failed request: 190 Current serial number in output stream: 193 X Error of failed request: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 62 (X_CopyArea) Resource id in failed request: 0x2400006 Serial number of failed request: 154 Current serial number in output stream: 160 X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 128 (SHAPE) Minor opcode of failed request: 2 (X_ShapeMask) Resource id in failed request: 0x280000f Serial number of failed request: 143 Current serial number in output stream: 165 no idea on this one... I startd X (that gives the keyboard map error), then I exited X. Could be the logout confirmation window, but that seems to appear just fine on the screen...(I''m using AfterStep 1.4.5) waiting for X server to shut down xterm: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) or KillClient on X server ":0.0" maybe because I didn't close all the windows before exiting?... FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing. looked in that directory and couldn't see anything jumping out at me... -- __________________________________________________ Justin Georgeson Institute for Advanced Technology -- System Administrator University of Texas at Austin -- Dept. of Computer Science http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/pyros [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
