I have a machine that I'm putting two NICs in, at the moment i have a Kingston PCI 100 Mbps and an SMC Ultra ICA 10 Mbps. First off I'm having trouble bringing up the interfaces. In /etc/donf.modules, I have alias eth0 tulip #options eth0 irq=10 io=0x400 alias eth1 smc-ultra options smc-ultra irq=3 io=0x280 If I type "ifup eth0" it loads the SMC, if I type "ifup eth1" it says "Delaying eht1 initialization." I don't seem to be seeing anything useful out of dmesg. Anyhow the Kingston is going to be connected to a Cisco switch connecting 8 other PCs with fake IPs. The SMC is going to have a real IP and will be connected to the company network. This machine will be the entry point to a cluster for users to start/stop/monitor jobs. Anyhow I've read the HOWTOs for setting up multiple NICs and I'm not sure if I need to set up bridging but I read that HOWTO also. Any pointers would be appreciated. I'm thinking I'll have to find a PCI nic that won't load off the tulip driver before I can see the interfaces come up correctly. Thanks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
