Though the binary is probably stripped and this won't help much. Most likely it is a library problem or something stupid. Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the rpm? Or try the rpm audit/check or whatever and see if anything is corrupted. Or take this as a sign to not use linuxconf and familiarize yourself with the /etc directory.
