just to ease everyone's nerves, I changed it from a poitner to an array,
it still doesn't work.. I can post a more relevant code segment in the
*real* program.. it has something to do with the data being passed to the
callback function, that's all I can think, though that works *fine* with
printf or g_print.. go figure :(
