I just got the newest version of netscape off of the netscape website
installed it, and everything was groovy, but when I hit
the back button a while ago it started spawning multiple windows, like
about two or three a second, reducing them to icons on the gnome menubar.
This went on for about 20 or 30 seconds, me furiously attempting to kill
the process and when I finally did kill the process, the machine locked
up. Totally. I have never in the 4 or so years I've been fooling with
Linux have a machine freeze the way this one did. (haven't had to
crtl-alt-del since I threw the '95 box down the stairs......)
My reason for the newest netscape is that the one that came with RH6.0
locks up 98% of the cpu til I kill whatever pid it is running under
manually.....This seems to be a vastly more entertaining problem, but
potentially more damaging. What I really want to know is if anyone else
has seen this. Is it Netscape? is it the gnome? Anyone for lynx?
