Hello ... I am trying to upgrade my system from RH 5.2 to RH 6.0 via FTP. I
just got cable modem and made the boot disk from one of the ftp sites. I
have been able to boot the install floppy, specified my network card,
specified DHCP and specified that I want to use FTP. When I am prompted for
my domain name, I simply enter austin.rr.com but I don't know what to put
for the hostname. I have tried entering localhost and go to the next screen.
In the next screen I specify the ftp site address and then the path but I
get an error message saying that server could not be reached. I have even
tried specifying the IP address of the ftp site instead of its name, and
have had the same problem. Any clues???

Ok, if no clues to this problem, then what files do I need to download in
order to compile and upgrade to RH 6.0? Is it just kernel-headers and
kernel-sources? I dont think so. I have never upgraded linux and would like
to learn what is the simplest way to do it without having to erase my files
and reinstall everything. I thought FTP was going to be the simplest way but
I just explained what problems I am having.

I know how to compile the kernel so that wouldnt be a prob.

Thanks for the help
