Are you sure about that?  I've got an Abit BH6 and Abit BX6 2.0 board
and I'm not aware of any such limitation.

Checking the BX6 2.0 box, it appears that my SCSI card (an Adaptec
2940) has picked IRQ 9 (automatically), and it works fine.  The other
box isn't using IRQ 9, but it also has a lot fewer cards so it
wouldn't need to.
