I'm going to be setting up ADSL through jump net, but would like to have my
network go through a firewall. The problem is I'm also planning on having static
IPs and can't think of how to do this. A friend of mine suggested using NAT. I
assume this would mean I give all the hosts fake IPs and the firewall translates
them into real IPs. I suppose this would mean no direct access to individual
machines from outside the network (except the firewall). If such is the case,
then would I be able to setup a tunnel/proxxy thing through the firewall to
run things remotely on specific hosts from outside the network (maybe an app
that doesn't fly on the firewall). If I'm not making sense let me know and I'll
try to clarify, I don't have a specific app in mind, just trying to think ahead.
Thanks in advance.
