Hi all, I'm wondering, and I really haven't found anything that might help
me with this (might not be looking in the right place) but I was thinking
that since I have several linux machines here on my home network, that
there should be a way to share home directories between all the linux
boxen. I currently have my home directory shared using samba off of my
main server for the win98 box for games i have. Is there a way to put a
line using smbmount in one of the login scripts and if so how so that it
would automatically mount the share upon login?
Also, while I'm asking this, is there a way to make my linux server sort
of a master user/password keeper for the entire network? Yes.. more
newbie questions that I haven't seen really answered before. I know in nt
(yes.. I originally learned networking with Nt and since i've seen the
truth.) and has the nt server as the domain controller.. I was wondering
how I would be able to do something like that for all of the linux systems
on my network and my smb linux server. I think that would simplify things
a great deal.
thanks in advance,
steven westbrook sends.
