> Most of the documentation says to use ./Maildir/ when invoking the daemon > but I can find no where in my init files in /etc/rc.d/init.d/ where qmail > is actually called. There are init files for qmail, qmail-pop3d, > qmail-qmqpd, qmail-qmtpd and qmail-smtpd. But none seem to actually call > anything with mailbox or maildir. the directions say to put this on the line in qmailrc (usually found in /var/qmail). One of the other init scripts will call /var/qmail/qmailrc at some point, and you'll see Maildir on the process line when it's running. To create a valid Maildir in the user's home directory, you need to use 'makemaildir' from /var/qmail/bin (IIRC). Don't just create a directory there, it will say it's invalid. good luck, I had qmail up and pop and imap (got CU's imapd and patched it with the maildir patches) were both going smoothly, but qmail started rejecting about 1 out of 5 messages saying the recipient mailbox or address was invalid (but the other 4 would be delivered just fine). It got worse and I didn't have time to deal with it, so I reverted to sendmail/mbox format until I have time to work with qmail enough to figure out what it was saying was really wrong. _____________________ _ _ _________________________ Michael Rice |_| Collective |_| http://www.colltech.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] |_ Technologies _| 8007598888/8019292 pager Consultant [] [] "The Power Of Many Minds" --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
