Hi all,
I was trying to find about Dell's policy on Linux before getting one, and
those 'null & void on OS' is quite a turn-off!
Seems like if I just have Linux on it and ever face a hardware issue they
will not even be able to run 'diag'! and based on the fact that I am
running Linux they might void all hardware warranty!
Please correct me if the above part sounds wrong. My hardware knowledge
is limited.
Also if you can advice me about a brand worth buying that will be very
helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Zahed

Subject: RE: Dell Computer - Saved Cart Information
1) Approximately how long does it take to receive an Inspiron 7000 from
date of order?
>From date of order you are looking at 2-3 weeks. This is the industry
standard.
2) Will you provide tech-support if I have Linux as a second operating
system beside Windows (98 or NT)?
Or
What is your policy on using Linux on Inspiron?
We will not offer tech-support for the Linux on the Inspiron because it is
not a standard offered OS. You can install it on your Inspiron if you like
but Dell Computer cannot support it in any way. It may also null and void
your OS warranty.
