First News:

Geek Cocktail hour
Friday 5:00 at Desert Books
refreshments provided.
Come by, bring a few friends.

ABOUT THE INSTALL FEST:

>We can direct everyone to Desert Books with a list of books to purchase.

It would probably be better to recommend just one book, so newbies aren't
overwhelmed.

Running Linux 3rd. ed is out

Learning Red Hat Linux (Oreilly) will be here next week.

Learning Debian GNU/Linux (Oreilly) should be published
later this month.

>Be sure to give Lynn ample notice to get the suggested books in stock.

OReilly needs two weeks to get books to me.

> Maybe we can get Lynn to come down and set up a stand or something

Unfortunately, it's against UT policy to let non UT vendors sell on campus.
(Unless you've got friends in the Admin - in which case there are no rules)
However, I could could front the books to Sig Linux and you could resell them.
I could even work at the stand - I just couldn't sell them as desert books.

>come we might be able to make a little money on linux t-shirts

Omar will need to print more t-shirts (there's money cause I owe
you guys a check for the ones that sold.)

ANOTHER QUESTION...

Do you want to attract just UT students?

If not, I can send a note out to my mailing list.

Also, if we did it on sunday afternoon, Mike, who does the computer
show on KJFK could do a live remote from the Install fest. I could also
get KJFK to switch my spots out for a week to promote the event.

just ideas.
