I need help resolving some annoyances with my RedHat 6.0 setup.
None of these are major, but they are really annoying.
I am using Gnome/Enlightment. I tried upgrading to the latest level
(gnome-core-1.0.7-2), but this has not helped.
Here's my list:
1. Clicking on window icon in the pager (on the toolbar) does not bring
the window
to the foreground (unless it was hidden). As a result, to get a window
to come to the
foreground, I have to right click the icon and hide it, then click the
icon again.
2. Apps launched from toolbar are not given focus. They appear, but
then you have to
move the mouse to the window and click to give it focus.
3. delete key does not delete current char ... deletes prev. Acts like
backspace. This is true
in the Gnome Terminal app and some other places too (but not for the
text console). I
tried setting "Swap DEL/Backspace" under Settings - Preferences -
General -- this had
no effect. I also tried looking at the key mappings using showkey ...
everything looked
proper.
4. related to #3. backspace doesn't work within many commands, such as
ftp and nslookup.
Any help on these would be greatly appreciated.
