I don't know if it applies, but I just built a Celeron 400 box for my
girlfriend with 64mb of pc66 memory. It's an Intel AL440LX board, LX
chipset. It kept giving her illegal ops & exceptions (yes, Win98) till I
changed the RAM out to PC100. Runs great.
The weird thing is that the original BIOS revision on that board was P-II
Klamath only, up to 333mHz. I updated to a revision that allowed Celeron &
PC100 RAM, ran a Celeron 300 *AND THE SAME 3 STICKS OF PC66 RAM* with NT
for 2 months without a crash. With the new BIOS update & 400mHz CPU, the
PC66 won't run anything.
So I'd suggest swapping the RAM between boxen and see what happens...
