i recently read a nifty article at: http://linux.com/tuneup/database.phtml/X11/000760.html it discusses using xtv to monitor other x-sessions elsewhere on a network. i invision a cool smaller window with snapshots of the desktop every 5 secs. sounded kind of interesting, if nothing else worth playing with. i finally found the source on metalab's ftp in the X11 utilities, (note: xtv is NOT on freshmeat) but when compiling it tries to -lsun, and i have no libsun anywhere. i can not find libsun. i only seem mentions of libsun in a SunOS context when i searched the net. the author of the article said he just used a deb file to install it on his machine; i tried to use apt-get install xtx but only errored out with dependency issues needing libc5. i'm not reverting to libc5 to use this, and can't believe such a cool sounding program has seemingly been abandoned. anyone have any ideas? is there a better utility out there that does this and is more widespead? anyone have libsun? -- tom carlile [EMAIL PROTECTED] professional systems wrangler --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
