IBM as well as Sun have also released sdk / jdk / jre.  again, read the
docs and make sure it works with your glibc, most require glibc-2.1.x.
i've only used the blackdown jdk, but only because i am trapped in
glibc-2.0.7 land -- i'd expect sun's sdk to be worth evaluating...
