there's a program called cdrdao that will make CD's without the pauses...
very important for any CD that you want to still be identifiable to CDDB
after you copy it if you do a track-by-track copy rather than a disk copy.
and for ones that should segue seamlessly into the next track...

(of course its a linux program =))
