Yep... looks like a glibc problem to me. I've had many similar problems
lately (solved by recompiling the program in question). You would think
they should be backward compatible, wouldn't ya? :P The woes of glibc
compatibility has driven me up the wall many many times. Actually, if
they're going to include a binary on that CD, they should have it
statically linked. Otherwise use the local perl. As it is, it's not a very
good way for distribution.
