I just bought a APC Battery Backup that has a Comm Port which tells my
linux box to auto-shutdown. I got the linux software from APC, but i
could never get the script/program to communicate through my serial port.
I know the serial port works because i used to have my mouse on it. Its
just my routing box, so i don't need a mouse. Does anyone have any ideas,
or ran into something like this before?

I'm running Red Hat v6.0
also, I'm using that PowerChutePlus v4.5.2.1 package from APC
