I know this isn't a linux topic but I figured some of you may have
experience with openBSD. Basically, I'm trying to use it as my
router/firewall box (becuase I got a look at the openBSD ipf firewalling
and ipnat masq functionality, and it looks very cool). I _think_ I have
all that (that = ipf & ipnat rulesets) set up OK, but for some reason I
can't get the wan interface (ep1, a known-good isa 3c509b) to pull any
info from the RR dhcp servers.
Has anybody done this that could share some pointers? It says
that it is sending the dhcp requests to 255.255.255.255 which seems a
little odd, and always times out saying no offers received after trying at
various intervals. Do I need to preconf the interface a little bit before
activating dhclient so that the broadcast address or some other parameter
is set up right (via the /etc/dhclient.sh script which executes prior to
dhclient activation)?
I've tried reading in the online faqs but the information for the
client side of dhcp (in the official openBSD faq anyway) is pretty minimal
which implies it should be a fire-and-forget type of thing...
        Thanks for any help!
        Mike
