Has anyone used gnu parted? I think it does the same thing as partition
magic. But I have never used it. Since I'm not sure if anyone here has
paid for partition magic (and their license might not allow sharing).
Might be a good alternative.

Okay, parted does do the same thing as partition magic and then some.
(BTW, Jeff, *please* set word-wrap in your posts. And privately email me
if you need another 8-port hub. I'd rather not bring it unless necessary,
since it's ... in use.)
Another thing to keep in mind is that, IIRC, one can only have 3 or 4 hubs
in a physical network. (Most) switches OTOH do not have such restrictions.
It might also be a good idea to install openssh and turn off telnetd/etc.
and advise the users *why* it's a good thing.
