Good old IBM. They are really covering Linux well on Tuesday. Here is
the announcement for an on campus tech talk on Linux at IBM, followed
by an info session for a cool internship.

On Tuesday, November 28 from 6:30PM to 8:00PM in the ACES Auditorium
Room 2.302 IBM will be having a double header: A technical speaker
followed by Extreme Blue info session.

>From 6:30PM-7:30PM Satya Sharma, an IBM Distinguished Engineer will
present IBM's Open Source/Linux Strategy and Projects. Here is an
outline:
IBM has established the Linux Technology Center to initiate new open
source projects and participate in existing open source community
projects. These projects are in various Operating System technologies
such as scalability, high availability, file systems, networking,
storage technologies etc. Other aspects of IBM's Unix strategy is to
enable and support Linux on server product lines and to ship IBM's
software products on Linux.

Following Satya, from 7:30PM-8:00PM, there will be an information
session for Extreme Blue, an experience no computer science or
software engineering student would want to miss. Participants spend
8 weeks of the summer developing software they pick from projects all
around the company. After making a final presentation of their work it
is returned to the full-time IBM group. The Extreme Blue interns can
also attend many technical lectures given just for them by experts in
their field on topics such as the development of a copper process,
Java Beans and Internet2. You don't want to miss this opportunity.
