kdeinit

I just installed mandrake 8.0 (which is my new favorite distro). I
descided to give kde a try. Anyway, a quick look at top reveals that there
are at least 15 kdeinit processes running and most of these have allocated
10M or so of memory.

What is kdeinit, and did I misconfigure something?
