Conectiva would be my choice.  Based on RedHat, but with apt-get like 
Debian so one never has to reinstall.  Just upgrade weekly for security 
updates and apt-get dist-upgrade when It comes time for that.  It is 
Brazoillian, but is in English and has the best foriegn language compat 
of any.
