Since I suspect Joseph is new to making a kernel looking at the howto will be informative, but Debian makes the actual process really easy. Look at http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=debian+kernel+compile I've never had any difficult problems when using these tools. Look at /var/log/dmesg for hints about what hardware you have installed. lspci can also be useful. If you want to run 2.4 I recommend you install woody testing. If you want to run 2.4 on potato I would question your reason for wanting to go to a less stable kernel (grabs fire-proof suit). -- mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ece.utexas.edu/~thecap/ 28 70 20 71 2C 65 29 61 9C B1 36 3D D4 69 CE 62 4A 22 8B 0E DC 3E _______________________________________________ Siglinux mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.utacm.org/mailman/listinfo/siglinux
