Time to leech the mana of Linuxoid gurus :) Hey guys, I have a Toshiba with type II PCCard slots. Does anyone have reliable experience running any PCMCIA cd-burner? Or, if you prefer, USB? I looked on the Net, it seems USB supports only read operations, but SCSI burners are fully functional. Please post your experiences, thoughts, recommendations. And, oh yeah, which type is cheapest? I have to eat sometimes too, you know.
And, um, is there a used-computer store within walking distance of campus (I consider 3 miles to be normal walking distance) where I can look at low LOW end computers (486/10MB is fine)? Thanks.
