Dear Daniel I have also found the USB optical mouse is not recognised by M9. The Forum suggested this work around which did work: Apparently the Mandrake 9 DOES have problems with the usb mouse I copied this off their site but after carrying out the first part I am stuck as to how to do the second half. By the way the light on the USB now stays on and it works OK whereas before it would go out!
MANDRAKE WORK AROUND I've noticed one problem popping out several times: USB not working after 9.0 install. We don't know how many users are affected, but we were able to reproduce the problem on one machine, and the workaround is really simple. Read on... (In fact, you should also read this in case you find out that your system is instable, freezes, or that some hardware which MUST work, like network card, SCSI controller, and such doesn't work under ML 9.0!) Workaround Try to add 'noapic' option at boot : type ESCape key when you see lilo screen, to get the "lilo:" prompt and type : "linux noapic" THIS NEXT STEP DANIEL, AS A BEGINER -HOW DO I DO IT? If it all works fine add this option in /etc/lilo.conf in append line and run /sbin/lilo to get the "noapic" option automatically added at every boot. Please send us feedback! I CERTAINLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT FOR EM MANY THANKS Bob _______________________________________________ Siglinux mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.utacm.org/mailman/listinfo/siglinux
