thats what I never understood.. why all these other terms with no
functional advantages, I understand getting multi-language ones, but the
others.. whats the big hoopla.. different things for everyone I suppose
I want a terminal emulator that functions properly.  You'd think all of
them would but as it turns out..  terminal emulation is a HUGE mess...
look at Dan Brown's post for how the mess rears its head on the user's
side, and investigate the code for the programmers side of the mess
(you've never seen hideous till  you've done this.  After communicating
with the xterm development people, I have come to the conclusion they
are some of very few people who really understand the mess we have.

My point in posting such a silly message originally was not to start a
religious war.  Unfortunately if you say anything to the effect, this
piece of software does this right more often than other software, people
who  use  programs get ridiculous about it (see this message for
example) I will continue to cheer on our lesser appreciated friend,
xterm, not for its asthetic features but for doing the terminal part of
the job flawlessly. 

Now its on to post something useful to this thread.
