Hi Mike,

The Linux kernel only compiles with GCC. It makes use of GCC C extensions that are not supported by the Intel compiler (or any other compiler for that matter).

At any rate, here's a copy of the old Kernel HOWTO:

http://www.linuxdocs.org/HOWTOs/Kernel-HOWTO.html

So what is the deal with the www.tldp.org kernel how-to.

I have some free time and I'm looking into rebuilding my kernel with
the non-comercial Intel optimized compiler. I wanta do it right, but
it seems the link is down.

Any help on any cashed systems.

Big Mike
