Hello all,
I just installed a brand-new LiteOn combo drive on my desktop machine,
but I am having a peculiar problem- When I set the jumper on the old
cdrom drive to slave, and the jumper on the new combodrive to master,
windows sees both drives, but neither drive will boot my live knoppix
disk. Conversely, when I set the combodrive to slave and the cdrom
drive to master, I can boot knoppix, but neither knoppix nor windows
sees the combodrive.
To clarify:
cdrom(slave) + cd/dvdcombo (master) = bootable cd's DON'T boot.
cdrom(master) + cd/dvdcombo (slave) = cd/dvdcombo NOT recognized.
What could possibly be causing these problems? I am sure I have the
boot sequence set up properly in the bios.
