I've just put together a new computer running a P4/2.8 on an Abit VI7 motherboard. I have gentoo installed with a 2.6.1-mm5 kernel, but upon the first system boot (without the install cd), it hangs at at these last two lines..
"NET: Registered Protocol Family 1 NET: Registered Protocol Family 10" I can boot off the install media just fine, the install went off without a hitch, but I cant boot off the machine directly. I've checked everything, cables, jumpers on HD, acpi settings in the bios and kernel.. Any ideas are so greatly appreciated as I've been messing with this box all day.
