Hi,

Can anyone help me with recovering data from a bad disk? I am willing
to pay money.

Here are some more details: It appears that I have some sort of disk failure. I might have seen a "bad sector" error. I can try to read the gobbeldeygook on the screen to give more definitive diagnnostic info. Basically, I power on the computer, I get a login prompt but I can not log in. The disk was making a lot of sounds over the past few months and yes, yes, people on this forum told me to get a new disk asap. Well, I turned up my AC and that fixed the relay noises, but about 2 or 3 weeks
or so the disk finally failed.

Someone told me, I just need to get a friend who can attach my harddrive
as "slave" as opposed to a "master." So, if anyone out thhere can help me
with this I will be very appreciative.

Unfortunately, I discovered that my CD Rom backup seems to be missing some critical files. So much for backing things up!

Bill
