Hi,

The sigrok Cypress FX2 / fx2lafw driver also failed to work reliably on
my Intel Core i7 featuring USB 3.0 ports. In this case the USB 3.0 ports
are provided by an ASmedia USB 3.0 controller (one variant of xHCI).
The error is 'no room on ep ring'. I did not see this error on a
Renesas/NEC-based xHCI controller on the same machine.

I'm running on debian 3.2 kernel. Backporting only the Linux 3.4 USB xHCI
/hcd/hub changes was surprisingly straightforward and enabled the FX2
sampling @ 24 MHz via the ASmedia xHCI controller.

Unfortunately I did see a kernel stability issue upon unplugging another USB
device on this kernel, so there is some more work needed before I can
publish this workaround.

Mark
