Hello,
I'm hacking away at building a LA out of a $25 FTDI Hi-Speed USB FIFO
module (http://tinyurl.com/km7hndw) and I would love to be able to
integrate it into PulseView.
Ideally, I would be able to give PulseView an IP address/port to pull data
from. I see that there is some support for SCPI and LXI on the Wiki, but I
only see "Rigol DS (rigol-ds)" in PulseView and it only lists a SerialPort.
Why not build a driver right into sigrok?
1) I'm a much better Java dev than c/c++. I see Java bindings, but not for
PulseView?
2) I'd like to be able to iterate fast without a lot of recompiling.
3) Being able to pull from a generic TCP connection would allow you to be
geolocated elsewhere. Could have the actual capture being done on a
headless raspberry pi unit and then pull the data from it later.
4) if this little LA unit proves useful, I'll work at building it into
sigrok then. It shouldn't be too hard as I'm using Sync 245 mode just like
the existing IKALOGIC ScanaPLUS driver.
Is there someway of accomplishing this now? Any advice?
In the meantime, I'll just create the compressed .sr files in Java for
PulseView to open. I have a bug ticket to open on this though - when
specifying the file for PulseView to open from command line, you can't add
any decoders afterwards. Seems something gets hung. PulseView 0.2.0.
Thanks for all you do!
Adam
