Are you aware that the mainline 'uart' decoder has been
supporting this feature for five months already? :) Including
user specified termination characters, as well as separate EOL
for RX and TX (which is useful when output has CR/LF but input
only has ENTER which translates to CR). Agreed on the benefit
of such an extension. :-]
